Instructions

Do not let this guide overwhelm you, just take the steps one at a time until you complete the install.

First things first, once you install the train horn kit, you will need to turn the air pump on and fill the tank up until the pressure switch turns the pump off. (You do not want to exceed 120psi) Next step is to test out your horn! When testing the horn keep in mind the compressor is not designed to run continuously, it will need time to cool itself down between blasts.

Operation

Make sure that you have honked the horn a few times before you give power to your toggle switch. The compressor does have a pressure switch with automatic shut off, however if you have a leak or the switch fails the pump will continuously run and the pump could fail or drain your battery. To avoid this just flip the toggle switch on, let the pump run till the pressure switch turns off your pump and at that point turn off the toggle switch. You will notice when the pressure is low and you need to fire up the compressor again.

All Kits require a Relay.

You will find the relay terminal numbers on the bottom of the relay itself. Simply unplug the connector to see the numbers. Next install the gauge with Teflon tape. Click the above photo of the wiring diagram to enlarge it.

Air Pump

You will want to install the air pump out of the elements. You want to expose it to as little snow, rain and heat as possible. Location ideas include behind or under seats, tool box, or trunk.

Air Tank

The air tank is easier. You can mount this baby anywhere you have room. Ideas include inside, under, or the bed of your ride.

Horn Assembly

Mount you horns under your car or truck facing backwards or sideways so they don’t collect rocks and debris from the road.
