Check out this 540 Horsepower Chevy Silverado November 11, 2014

Who doesn’t love a fast truck? There’s something inherently beautiful about a truck that can tow and haul while having a ton of horsepower and speed, too. This is probably why the SVT Raptor from Ford has been so popular, and why horsepower and top speed seem to slowly be increasing in base models every year.

Callaway Sport, most noted for their Corvette tuning, decided they wanted to share the love of speed with trucks too, which is how the 540 Horsepower Chevy Silverado came to be. The Silverado starts life out with a paltry 285hp, and while that may be fine for the average person, Reeves Callaway didn’t think this was enough. Starting with the stock C19 truck, Callaway starts tuning and before they’re done they have touched just about every aspect of the truck. Callaway is best known for their work on various GM models, but has also worked on vehicles from the likes of BMW, Volkswagen, Porsche, and Audi.

Under the Hood

Starting with the engine, the Callaway guys added a TVS1900 supercharger to get the engine breathing better and to get all that extra air in and out they added a high flow intake system on the front and a low restriction exhaust system on the back. All of this combined gives the truck it’s 540 horsepower rating and 522 lb-ft of torque.

Along with this hardware comes a full software upgrade as well. Callaway has fully remapped the computer and added some extra electrical components to squeeze every bit of power out of the Silverado as it can.

From here, Callaway upgrades the suspension system for a sportier feel and a slight lift, upgraded tire and alloy wheel package in your choice of finishes, and finishes the performance upgrades off with the Callaway Le Mans GT brake system to make sure you can get all that truck stopped once you get going.

Callaway takes their upgrading touch inside the Silverado and gives the truck a much-needed facelift. Starting on the floor and working our way up, Callaway replaces the more simple items like floor mats with new embroidered ones and the not so simple updates like replacing the stock pedals with new, sportier versions.

The steering wheel is completely replaced with a Callaway sport version, various trim pieces are updated and replaced to align with the overall look and feel, too.

Everything Else

Callaway is so certain their upgrades are quality and done correctly that they offer a 3-year/36,000 mile limited warranty included in the price tag, and an available 5-year, 100,000 mile powertrain service plan for a little extra.

For your money you also get a Callaway key fob, exterior badging, dash plaques, underhood plaques, and an authenticity and documentation package so if you ever decide to sell your beast of a truck, the buyer can rest assured he or she is getting the real deal.

Overall, the Callaway Silverado looks and feels like what the truck should be from the factory. Sportier, faster, and a little better looking; it’s like the truck got the Hollywood treatment and is better than ever, in a very good way.
